Nullstar.io is a free shooter game where asteroid mining is combined with the competitive element of an arena game. Players control their spaceships in a hazardous zone with numerous asteroids and other pilots armed with deadly lasers. This game remains fairly simple in terms of its mechanics, and there is no need to have any complex menus or upgrade options.
The only means of improvement in the game is mining asteroids and gathering the crystals of stardust from them. The more resources you mine in the game, the more you get upgraded because your ship will grow in size and strength.
The regular weapon allows for destroying the asteroids and defending from the UFO and other enemy spaceships. In addition, some automatic upgrades and repairs help the spacecraft to become stronger. In case everything seems hopeless and too dangerous for you, use emergency hyperspace, which will bring you to some random place. The inertia-less drive system will make your maneuvering easier due to the absence of gravity.
Other pilots can attack you, but fighting is optional in Stardust. There is an option to cooperate with other players and explore space. Friendly ships have a heart sign, and aggressive pilots have a devil sign.
There is a variety of online servers available at Nullstar.io that allow people to compete against each other and collaborate online. If you want to practice in peace, then there is an option to play solo and fight against computer-controlled ships. There are no sounds in the game; only movement and survival matter here.
The player can move his/her ship around using either the WASD keys or the arrow keys. The spacebar and Shift are used to attack and mine asteroids. Hyperspace can be activated by pressing H.
