Monarchies.io is a top-down RTS game wherein you will control a queen honey bee to form a colony. In the game, you do not fight individually; rather, you will manage worker bees, grow your hive, collect resources, produce more workers, and protect your colony from other queens, wasps, and harmful mites.
The first step you should take in this game is the creation of a hive and egg placement in its cells. As the brood grows, new workers appear and can be given various tasks. The placement of your hive is also crucial when you set it near the flowers that give an opportunity to gather pollen and nectar.
The foragers will provide the colony with nectar and pollen while nurses use the collected pollen to make bee bread and feed larvae. The builders use the consumed honey to construct new cells.
Apart from competing queens, your colony is threatened by varroa mites, which can attach to the workers, infest the brood, kill the developing bees, and multiply. Nurse bees can remove mites through grooming behavior, and attack mode helps workers to defeat the threat nearby.
Wasps are yet another threat to your colony. Activate attack mode when wasps come close, or workers will not be able to respond well to the threat.
Monarchies.io has been designed in such a way that it encourages players to be strategic about time and space. Swarm your workers together with swarm mode before attacking, and place your hives on top of flower patches for effective resource gathering.
